PhD Student
Mikayla is a graduate student in the Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program at the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from Tennessee State University, where she conducted research in both neuroanatomy and immunology labs. Her current research interests focus on acute vascular events and their neurodegenerative impacts on neural plasticity. Outside the lab, Mikayla recharges by diving into self-help books, breaking a sweat at the gym, and indulging in self-care—never without a fresh set of nails.
